from 1983: 23 stars in total on illustrated side
The stars represent the Swiss cantons. The creation of the canton Jura in 1979 increased the number of cantons to 23. From 1983 this
canton was added to the illustrated side of the ½, 1 and 2 Swiss franc coins.
